Hailing from the Northern Virginia region, LikaJoon AKA Persian Princess has never been scared to take risks and is always ready to make moves to take herself and the urban music scene to the next level.
Born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Northern Virginia at the age of 6 months, she has been making a name for herself in the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia area). She admits her career choice of rockin’ mics for a living is much easier than it would have been had she never came to America.
LikaJoon has released her promotional EP and is currently working on her mixtape and album. She is featuring on other local artist’s mixtapes and albums, and just recently collaborated on a track by the name of “World Go Round” featuring major artist Freeway; she is currently working on a few other cuts with a few other major artists. LikaJoon was also recently nominated for “Best Female Rap Artist” in the Velocity Magazine Awards.
In closing LikaJoon offers, “There’s nothing like me in the game right now. You have never seen a middle eastern female rapper who can write and recite.” With hip-hop becoming more and more of an international phenomenon; her signature sound, undeniable swagger, drive, loyalty, looks, and skillful delivery are bound to cross genres as well as borders.
